Lev Bannim - Reaching Out to The Hearts of Our Children

Lev Bannim
Reaching out to the hearts of our children

We are an organization located in Ramat Beit Shemesh who work with the hundreds of teenage boys who hang out in the streets.

Our main activities include:

1- Night Patrol:
Being out on the streets with the kids at night. Keeping them occupied with various activities and gatherings and keeping them away from trouble and crime.

2- Taking Care of Their Needs:
Providing them with food, shelter and basic needs. Many of these kids find themselves out on the streets at night with no food or money in their pockets.

3- Trips and Ride Service:
Trips to Kivrei Tzaddikim, horseback riding, other fun activities, and bringing them to potential yeshivot and schools across the country. Getting them back to school or bringing them back home from wherever they may be.

4- Kippa, Tzitzit and Tefillin:
Making goals and projects with them to wear the various religious items each day.

5- Heart to Heart Talks with Each Child:
One of our most important activities is to spend many hours, day and night, speaking with these boys and giving them the feeling that there is someone in the world whocares about them and can understand what they are going through. This is the single most important thing that can be done for them to keep them safe and out of trouble as much as possible.

6- Parental Guidance:
Many parents reach out for help and guidance on how to properly deal with and help their children. We provide constant updates and guidance to parents to help foster a better and more understanding relationship, and to eventually get their children on a path to success.

Rav Eliyahu Klein
Rav Eliyahu has been working with these boys for the last four years and is in close regular contact with over 200 of them. He has helped many of them stop committing crimes, using drugs, and doing many other harmful behaviors. He works day and night out on the streets - finding these boys and keeping them safe. He buys them food, talks to them for hours on end, teaches them Torah classes, takes them on many different fun and adventurous trips and helps them want to straighten their lives out. He was recently told by the Beit Shemesh police that since he has been here working with these boys, crime has dropped by 2/3.

Our Dream and Vision for the Future:
To have our own Lev Bannim center here in Ramat Beit Shemesh providing full services for all the different types of children at the various stages they may be at.
In addition, we would like to set up training workshops to teach others how easy it is to reach out to children in need and make a positive impact in their lives.
We would also like to eventually branch out and set up Lev Bannim centers all over the country.

Let us all take part in this tremendous mitzva of helping these children by supporting the Lev Bannim organization. We hope and bless you that by making an effort to care for the children of Am Yisrael, Hashem will personally make an effort to care for your own children and you will see much bracha and siyata dishmaya in their growth and success in life.

Every donation is literally life saving and even a small amount can go a long way. As Rav Eliyahu says, sometimes all it takes is to buy a kid on the street a piece of pizza and a cola and sit with him to talk for an hour, and that may be enough to make a positive difference for the rest of his life.

Tax deductible receipts can be provided for your donations - please contact us.
